~Tale of the Assassins~For a thousand years, a group of assassins pulled together in order to remove corruption within the world. They did what had to be done by killing those who needed to die. No one knew of their existence, but everyone had heard of what they did. Some of their kills people did not agree with and that caused problems for these assassins. The problems grew to the point where a small group managed to find out who they were and they brought down the group of assassins. The attack was a massacre on both sides and only three people managed to survive, barely. With the blood and killing in their minds, they couldn't live with themselves, so their mind simply forgot all about what happened and who they were. Lost, they banded together in hopes of regaining who they were before the blood bath they woke up in. In their search for who they were, these survivors found themselves defending the innocent and felt liberated whenever they did. This left them more confused, yet before they could find the truth, a mysterious stranger showed up at their doorstep and called herself Rian. She assisted them in gaining a new life as she trained them for a better purpose than to just kill corruption or simply protect the innocent from themselves. Once the intense training was complete, Rian put them through the ritual that caused each survivor to journey into themselves. Clinically, they were dead for several hours and only two of them came back to the land of the living. Once they did, they found themselves staring at the world as if they were nothing more than babies seeing it for the first time. Rian had gave them a new life.
With more training in mind, the two survivors learned about their new abilities and their sight of seeing the Others. Taught in the ways of the Wrayth, the survivors were soon dragged into the family and found a new purpose for their life. The Wrayths have been here for eons and no one knows that they are even alive. In fact, Wrayths are ghosts to human society. They can be seen, but anyone they knew in their normal life no longer sees them for who they are, for they have undergone a transformation within the moment they joined the Wrayths. Sworn to a new oath, the remaining assassins created their own sanction within La Crosse, with Rian as their leader. Here they expanded and found the Others to be in large numbers, larger than any history book of the Wrayths details. In fear of something big, the Wrayth sanction started recruiting and training their new comers the ways of the Wrayth...and the assassin in hopes of saving humanity. ~Who are the Others?~Though no one is quite sure where the Others came from, they do know these Others are not human. They hold powers any human can only imagine of, and they do look human. Some Wrayths suspect the Others are the dead who have come back from the other side in hopes of achieving something they have lost in life. Yet, these suspicions have not been confirmed since if an Other did have a life before their new one, they do not remember it like a Wrayth does. A few other Wrayths think they are a product of Hell overflowing, and demons showing up on Earth, but again, there is nothing to support it. All that is known is not all of the Others are in fact evil...but all of them are dangerous. Oh! I remember! That clever phrase is: "Look to the skins for someone wise." Huh, seems to be more of a riddle to me...
